Ya know, the majority of jams that we hear on our local Hip Hop stations nowadays have mundane beats, mumbled lyrics that don’t even make sense and consist of some kind of coughing in the background.
I used to LOVE introducing my little kids that I would nanny back in the day to new Hip Hop songs that actually had meaning and depth. (What happened, Kanye?? 😫)
I feel like that was lost a little bit in the recent years… and I have been wishing and hoping HARD…. that it will soon surface again.

This being his fourth studio album, I was ready to hear a more mature side of Cole… not that I didn’t love his previous work- I did, but this one really takes it to a whole new level.
